FRAME 00 · the question

Something on your mind?

FRAME 01

Something you’re thinking about.

A problem you’re trying to solve.

A conversation you’re not quite sure how to have.

FRAME 02

Or perhaps just a feeling that something needs to move.

You don’t necessarily know what it is.

FRAME 03 · shift

And that’s okay.

FRAME 04 · the missing piece

Sometimes, you already know enough. Yet there’s still a missing piece. Something you can’t quite put your finger on.

It could be a conversation. A different perspective. A small decision.

Or simply seeing something you thought you knew in a different way.

SOURCE 04a · real

Loose ink sketch: a small figure with question marks crosses a river on black stepping-stones, with three coloured stones ahead marking possible next moves and a small crocodile watching.

FRAME 05 · a better question

Maybe it starts with a better question. Or a clearer observation.

Perhaps you see a possibility you hadn’t considered. Perhaps you decide to do something differently.

FRAME 06 · ignition

And that’s where the shift begins.

SOURCE 07a · real

Loose ink sketch in three beats: a figure with a thought cloud, then a lit light-bulb overhead, then the figure running while carrying the bulb. Thought becomes insight becomes action.

Make the shift.

FRAME 09

Not everything needs a new plan. Sometimes, it needs a new way of looking at the old one.

FRAME 10 · the sequence

A thought becomes a possibility.

A possibility becomes a decision.

A decision becomes action.

Small shifts can change what happens next.

FRAME 11 · about

That’s what Alpha Shift is about.

Creating the space to explore. To think differently. To see more clearly. To find what matters.

And then to do something about it.

FRAME 12 · How we work

It might begin with a conversation.

It might be a workshop that gets people thinking and doing.

It might be a deeper journey with a leader, a team or an organisation.

Or it might be something we haven’t put into a box yet.

We start where you are.

SECTION 13 · the programme register

Seven ways to work. Open a frame to read it in full.

FRAME 01

THINK BETTERSee possibilities. Solve better problems.

Keep coming back to the same answer? Or wondering if there’s another way?

More ways to approach a real situation.

Beyond the obvious.

Sideways.

Logically.

Through better questions.

Not more thinking. More ways to think.

Try this

Got an answer?

Ask “What else?”

Then ask it again.

Choose the depth: 60 mins — Open it up · 180 mins — Work it through · 360 mins — Make it usable.

FRAME 02

COMMUNICATE CONFIDENTLYBe clear. Be heard. Have the conversations that matter.

Got something important to say — but not quite sure how to say it?

Know what matters.

Find the words.

Say what you mean — clearly and confidently.

Clarity before confidence.

Try this

Before an important conversation, ask:

What do I really want them to understand?

Start there.

Choose the depth: 60 mins — Open it up · 180 mins — Work it through · 360 mins — Make it usable.

FRAME 03

STORYTELLINGTurn ideas into stories people remember.

Have something worth sharing — and want people to remember it?

Find the story in what you want to say.

Give it shape.

Use words that help people see it.

Make the point worth remembering.

Try this

Think of something you need to explain.

Instead of asking:

“What do I want to say?”

Ask:

“What do I want them to see?”

Choose the depth: 60 mins — Open it up · 180 mins — Work it through · 360 mins — Make it usable.

FRAME 04

OWNING THE ROLEStep up. Take charge. Create movement.

Stepping into more responsibility — without necessarily feeling completely ready?

Step into the responsibility you’ve been given — or chosen to take on.

Understand what the role now asks of you.

Use what you already bring.

You don’t have to have it all figured out to step up.

Try this

Ask:

What does this role need from me now?

And:

What am I already bringing to it?

Choose the depth: 60 mins — Open it up · 180 mins — Work it through · 360 mins — Make it usable.

FRAME 05

PEAK PERFORMANCEUnderstand your mind. Access its power.

Ever had days when everything just seems to click — and others when it doesn’t?

Your best performance isn’t always about trying harder.

Notice what brings out your best.

Understand the state you’re in.

Learn how to find your way back to it.

Your best is already something you’ve experienced.

Try this

Think of a time when you were really good at what you were doing.

What was different about you in that moment?

Choose the depth: 60 mins — Open it up · 180 mins — Work it through · 360 mins — Make it usable.

FRAME 06

NAVIGATE UNCERTAINTYNot sweating over the future.

Spending too much time worrying about what might happen next?

We can’t know everything that’s coming.

But we can notice what’s happening now.

Separate what we can influence from what we can’t.

And find a useful next step.

You don’t need to know what happens next to decide what you do next.

Try this

Ask yourself:

What do I know?

What can I influence?

What can I do next?

Choose the depth: 60 mins — Open it up · 180 mins — Work it through · 360 mins — Make it usable.

FRAME 07

PERSONAL BRANDINGShow up with clarity. Be remembered for what matters.

Do people know what you bring — and what you’d like to be known for?

There’s probably more to you than the part people usually see.

Things you’re good at.

Things you’ve done.

Things you know about.

Things you care about.

And perhaps a few things people wouldn’t expect.

It’s all part of you.

The question is how you let people discover it — in person and online.

Try this

What are three things about you that are worth knowing?

Are you giving people a chance to discover them?

Choose the depth: 60 mins — Open it up · 180 mins — Work it through · 360 mins — Make it usable.

FRAME 21 · the person

I’ve always been curious.

About people. About what makes us tick. Why we respond differently to the same situation.

What if we also looked at what’s already there? The qualities we have.

Look closer. Ask questions. Try something. Learn. And occasionally, surprise yourself.

SOURCE 21a · to be shot

Portrait: attention and warmth, not a suit

And then there are the things I try…

FRAME 22 · let’s explore

Something on your mind?

You don’t need to have it all figured out. Maybe it’s something you want to work through. Something you’d like to do differently.

That’s okay. Start with a conversation.

Prototype form. No message is sent.

Why the register

The synthesis said the field shared one house style and that its structure needed a geometry, not a column. This direction answers with the plainest geometry there is: a ruled register of numbered frames. Ordinary reading sits on paper leaves. A genuine shift is the only thing that changes the material of the page, so it inverts a leaf to ink; a single pivotal cell ignites orange. The one thing the visitor does is re-read: click a shift frame and the same locked line is read again with its weight thrown onto a different word. The site develops the second look rather than performing it.

Five axes

  • Type: hard grotesque statements; monospace for every register index, tab and caption.
  • Palette: warm register stock, writing ink, ruled hairline greys, one live orange. Black appears only as an inverted frame, never as the surface.
  • Layout: a single 12-track ruled grid; content is placed frames, never a centred measure. No column exists anywhere.
  • Sketch treatment: real sketchnotes and imagined programme art both enter as crop-marked source frames.
  • Interaction: the shutter-cut registers each frame on scroll; clicking a shift frame moves the reading through the same words. Reduced motion and no-JS resolve the whole register, statically legible.
