Horizontal travelling spine

The bet: the thread is a horizontal track and the visitor travels it left to right, one thought per station. It makes "a single line you travel" literal. A fixed progress line at the foot always shows where you are on the line.

Structural bets

  1. [1] The spine runs horizontal. Vertical wheel/trackpad scroll is translated to left-to-right travel: you physically move along the line of thought.
  2. Sketch milestones are stations on the track (S1 river, S2 bulb, S3 portrait); chapters are the carriages between them.
  3. Each carriage holds its own thought and reveals its evidence vertically inside the carriage, so the held-thought reading still works station by station.
  4. [2] Programmes are a siding: a wider carriage with a 3-up sub-stack, so the six families do not stretch the track absurdly.
  5. A fixed progress line at the foot always answers "where am I on the line" (station 1 / 4), the horizontal echo of the living mark.
  6. The living mark sits on the track at your current position, moving with travel.
  7. On 390px the whole track rotates to a vertical stack (horizontal travel is a desktop luxury, never a mobile trap); the progress bar sticks to the bottom.
  8. Terminus = Chetan + the form: the line has a clear end, reinforcing "we start where you are, and here is the step".
Main risk: hijacking vertical scroll into horizontal travel is the single most likely thing to violate the motion constitution and a11y law (scroll-jacking, unpredictable, hard for keyboard/reduced-motion users). It must degrade to plain vertical everywhere it cannot be made native and calm, which risks the whole conceit collapsing into shape opus-2.
